Box Car Racer was a band started by two members of Blink-182 in 2001. It was never a full time thing because of Blink-182 and last until 2003. Tom says it really affected Blink-182 because after he experimented with Box Car Racer his Blink-182 songs were darker.

Travis Barker was in a plane accident that killed 4 peoople in Columbia, South Carolina. Barker suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his body and took a year to recover. Tom Delonge stated that the band would not have gotten back together had the plane crash not occurred.
