Kim Minseok
Kim Min-seok, better known by his stage name Xiumin, is a South Korean singer and actor who is a member of EXO-M. Xiumin learned martial arts and has a black belt in Kendo and Taekwondo, as well training in Wushu and Fencing. In 2008, Xiumin (18) was cast into S.M. Entertainment after winning second place in the S.M. Everysing Contest. Xiumin is the oldest member to join EXO.
In October 2015, Xiumin was cast to play the main role in the web drama "Falling for Challenge." -
LuHan
Lu Han, is a Chinese singer and actor who is a former member of EXO, and its subgroup EXO-M. As of August 5, 2014, Lu Han became the Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Comments on a Weibo Post, he broke his own record on September 25, 2015. On October 14, 2015, he released the song "Medals" as an album single, Reloaded, his solo album, and for the soundtrack of the film The Witness. -
Wu Yifan
Wu Yifan, also known by his stage name, Kris, is a Canadian-Chinese actor and singer-songwriter. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 and holds Canadian citizenship; he is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, English, and Korean. He was the lead rapper, and leader, in the sub group EXO-M from 2012-2014. Wu's birth name was Li Jiaheng. -
Kim Junmyeon
Kim Jun-myeon, better known as Suho (meaning "guardian" in Korean), is a South Korean singer and actor. During his youth, Suho was the class president of his elementary school and the vice-chairman of his school's student body. He dropped his position, of vice president of his junior high, after being cast by S.M. Entertainment. -

Zhang Yixing, also known as Lay, is a Chinese singer, actor, and dancer. He is a member and one of the main dancers of the South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO and its sub-unit EXO-M. Byun Baekhyun
Baekhyun was born on May 6, 1992 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He has a brother named Byun Baek-beom who is seven years older than him. Baekhyun began training to be a singer when he was 11 years old, influenced by South Korean singer Rain. In April 2015, Baekhyun released the first solo song since his debut titled "Beautiful" as soundtrack for Exo's web-drama Exo Next Door. Kim Jongdae
Kim Jong-dae, better known as Chen, is a South Korean singer and actor. He is one of the main vocalists of EXO-M. In 2011, Chen became the last EXO member scouted by S.M. Entertainment at 18 years old, through the S.M. Casting System. On December 29, 2011, he was formally introduced as the last member of EXO. In 2015, Chen participated in writing the lyrics for "Promise", a song from the reissued edition of EXO's fourth studio album Exodus, along with fellow members Chanyeol and Lay. -
Park Chanyeol
Park Chanyeol was born on November 27, 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. He attended Hyundai High School in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul. He has a sister named Park Yoora. After watching School of Rock in elementary school, Chanyeol became interested in music and he soon began playing the drums. He was accepted as a trainee under SM Entertainment after coming in second place in the 2008 Smart Model Contest. While training under S.M., he began to turn his focus towards rapping. -
Do Kyungsoo
Do Kyung-soo, better known by his stage name D.O., is a South Korean singer and actor. He is one of the main vocalists of EXO-K. D.O. was born in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, to a painter father and a hairdresser mother. He has an older brother, Do Seungsoo, who is 3 years older than him. D.O. began singing in primary school and was an avid participant in local singing competitions throughout his high school career. In 2010, he was advised to audition for S.M. Entertainment. -
Huang ZiTao
Huang Zitao, better known as Tao, is a Chinese rapper, singer-songwriter, producer, actor and martial artist. He debuted as the lead rapper for the sub-unit EXO-M. Sehun was born in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on April 12, 1994. He graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul in February 2013. He has a brother three years older than him. ehun was first scouted by an S.M. Entertainment casting agent at 12 years old while he was out having lunch with friends. While at first running away from the agent for 30 minutes and being chased down the streets, he was eventually cast into S.M. Entertainment in 2008. -

Debut Single
Their debut single, Mama, was released. The mandarin version of Mama reached number two on China's Sina Album Chart, while the Korean album peaked at number one on the Gaon Album Chart and number eight on the Billboard World Albums Chart. The mandarin version of the "Mama" music video reached number one on Chinese streaming websites. The Korean version reached number seven on YouTube's Global Chart. -
First Studio Album- XOXO
The group's first studio album, XOXO was released on June 2013 with two versions, a Korean-language "Kiss" edition and a Mandarin-language "Hug" edition. Unlike Mama era when EXO-K and EXO-M had separate promotions, XOXO was jointly promoted; mainly in South Korea. Both albums peaked at number one on the Billboard World Album Chart. -
"Growl" was released.
A repackaged version of XOXO, titled Growl, was released on August 5, 2013 with three additional tracks. "Growl" reached number one on all four of Korea's major music programs, winning a total of ten trophies in three consecutive weeks. The single peaked at number three on Billboard's Korea K-Pop Hot 100. -
"It's Showtime!"
Exo's Showtime was first aired on November 28, 2013. This also helped jump start their album promotions. -
Set new record for most albums sold
As of December 2013, all versions of XOXO have collectively sold over 1,000,000 copies, making EXO the first Korean artist to sell over a million album copies in twelve years and breaking the record for being the fastest-selling K-pop act. XOXO was named Album of the Year at the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards, making EXO the youngest ever boy band to win the award. XOXO is the best selling album in South Korea of 2013, winning the Disk Daesang Award at various award ceremonies like the Golden. -

Overdose
Exo's second EP was released. Overdose was promoted similarly to Mama, with EXO-M promoting primarily in China and EXO-K in South Korea. The album reached 660,000+ preorders before its release, making it the most pre-ordered mini-album in history. -
Kris's Lawsuit
S.M. Entertainment confirmed that EXO-M's leader, Kris, had filed a lawsuit against the agency to terminate his contract, stating violation of human rights as the main reason. -
EXO from EXOPlanet #1- The Lost Planet
The group held their first solo concert EXO From. EXOPLANET #1 - THE LOST PLANET starting May 24 at the Seoul Olympic Gymnasium. Tickets for the concert sold out in 1.47 seconds, breaking the record for the fastest selling out of a concert by a Korean artist. -
LuHan's Lawsuit
On October 10, EXO-M's Luhan also filed a lawsuit against S.M. Entertainment to nullify his contract, because of health issues and being treated differently than the Korean members, therefore having no promotions. -
Second Solo Concert
EXO's second solo concert was announced in January 2015 entitled EXO From. EXOPLANET #2 - The EXO'luXion. Five concerts were held in Seoul at the Olympic Park Stadium starting March 7. 1.2 million fans had attempted to buy tickets online. -
SM Lawsuit against Kris and LuHan
S.M Entertainment filed a counter-suit against Kris and Luhan for illegally continuing their promotions in China. The lawsuit was to stop their acting and advertisement under the use of the S.M trademark. -
EXODUS- "Call Me Baby"
Call Me Baby Music VideoEXO's second studio album, EXODUS, was released on March 30, 2015 in both Korean and Mandarin versions. Domestic pre-sales for the album surpassed 500,000 within 24 hours, setting a new record for pre-sales. The title track "Call Me Baby" was released early on March 27, due to leaked versions of the song. The music video was released 4 days later, with the Korean version receiving 4,000,000+ views and the Mandarin version receiving 2,000,000+ views in less than 24 hours -
EXO Next Door
EXO's first Mini Drama Series was aired. One day, four young men move into the house right next door to Yeon-hee's home, and to her surprise, they turn out to be Chanyeol, D.O., Baekhyun and Sehun from her favorite boy band EXO, who are looking to lay low for a while. They hire her to clean their house part-time during the winter vacation and that's when Yeon-hee found out that Chanyeol was her long lost childhood friend and crush "Chan" and is the grandson of the house owner. -
Tao's Lawsuit
On April 22, Tao's father posted a letter through Weibo expressing his sentiments for his son to withdraw from the group and return to China; due to lack of support concerning individual career developments and health issues. Tao had previously sustained several injuries, including a torn tendon in his ankle, that had not been properly treated, further worsened, and caused him to be absent during promotions for the group's second studio album EXODUS. -
Tao's Lawsuit- SM's statement
S.M. Entertainment released an official statement saying that they would be "seeking a solution in a developmental direction" by negotiating with Tao and his father. Tao later confirmed that he had left SM Entertainment. After failed negotiations, Tao filed an official lawsuit against SM Entertainment on August 24 for the termination of his exclusive contract. -

EXODUS's repackage album, Love Me Right, was released. The repackaged album contained the original tracks of EXODUS and four new songs, including title track "Love Me Right". -
Love Me Right ~Romantic Universe~
On November 4, EXO released their first Japanese single Love Me Right ~romantic universe~, which contains the Japanese version of their Korean title track "Love Me Right" as well as an original Japanese song "Drop That". On the day of its release, EXO sold a total of 147,000 copies, rising to the top of the Oricon Charts and becoming the Korean artist with the all-time best selling debut single in Japan -

Lightsaber
It was announced that EXO would be collaborating with Star Wars: The Force Awakens as part of the collaboration between S.M. Entertainment and Walt Disney. On November 9, the single "Lightsaber" was released with a special film to promote the movie ahead of its release in Korea. -
Second Winter Special Album
EXO released their 2nd winter special album Sing For You along with double title tracks "Sing For You" and "Unfair". Sing For You later broke the record for the highest first week sales for a Korean artist by selling 267,900 copies in its first week. The track "Unfair" also became the first K-pop track to be ranked in the "best of the week" playlist by Apple Music and EXO became the first Korean artist to be featured on the Apple Music homepage. -
Top 7 pop culture leaders
Near the end of 2015, prominent entertainment industry leaders ranked EXO number 7 in the list of the top ten pop culture leaders of 2015. -
First North American Tour
In February 2016, EXO held their first North American EXO'luXion tour which took place in Dallas, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
