33 year old Bobby Hull had just completed his 15th season with the Chicago Blackhawks. he was the second leading scorer in the NHL. When Winnipeg Jet owner Benny Hatskin signed Bobby Hull to a ten year contract with the WHA (world hockey association) it gave instant validity to the new league. -
