Born in Wilmington, DE, while my father finished up his PhD. We moved within a few weeks of my birth.

Moved to Sapelo Island, GA, (pop. ~120 then, now ~60) where my father worked in the UGA Marine Institute.

Atlanta, GA, just long enough for my father to get an MA in the youthful field of computer science.

7 entire years in one place- Poughkeepsie, NY, the 3rd largest IBM site in the world at the time.

Split time between Albany, NY, for college, and Fishkill, NY (near Poughkeepsie) each summer for the Fresh Air Fund camping program.

What I initially envisioned as six months to a year overseas in Romania grew to encompass Lithuania and Slovenia as well- and a whole lot of fun summer traveling.

Moved to DC within months of returning from overseas, career trajectory includes trying many things (non-profit work, academic support, bike shop and then chocolate shop management) before returning to teaching ESL.
