Birth
On September 25, 1999 my dad got into a motorcycle accident, and some worried that he would be hospitalized for my birth, but he wasn't. The 26th was the day of the Riders cup golf tournament. My parents were watching it and then they went to the hospital. While waiting, they kept calm by watching the tournament. I was born at 5.5 lbs., 19 inches, and 3 weeks early. I am very glad that I was born because if I wasn't I wouldn't be here today. -
9/11
The 11th of September 2001 al-Queda flew two hijacked planes into the World Trade Center in New York. This group, led by Osama bin Laden, hijacked four planes; two had landed in the World Center, one into the pentagon, and one into an empty field. While the city was in chaos, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani remained calm and helped calm the city. The next day, The United Nations Security Council made it legal to use military force against terrorists. I have been affected because I like to travel. -
Creation of the iPod
On this day, Tony Fadell and his company, apple, released a new kind of mp3 player that would change the world. The first generation iPod's wheel physically turned, but iPods made after 2003 had a sensitive wheel. So this wheel does not physically turn. In September of 2000, Apple released their new design, the IPod touch. This is the most current type of iPod. I use this everyday; it is a big part of my life, because it is how I communicate with my friends. -
Liza's Birth
On January 9,2002 my little sister, Liza, was born. She weighed 6.5 lbs., and was 20 inches long. She was born at 10:00 pm, with a proud big sister. Liza was three weeks early. I was very proud of her that day, she is my sister and I love her very much. -
Move to Fayetteville
The movers arrived at my house in Beaufort, SC at 9 o'clock am, and they packed our things and headed out for Georgia. It took 6 hours to arrive in Fayetteville, GA. The reason for the move is my dad changed jobs. We had already found a pretty red brick house in a nice neighborhood, and transporting two children, two parents, furniture, a cat, a dog, and a fish took a while to move, but we did it. I am thankful that we moved here because I have amazing friends and opportunities here. -
Creation of YouTube
In February of 2003, Chad Hurley launched youtube.com. It was intended to be a dating site but it quickly diverted form that purpose. Once the music video Lazy Sunday was put on views soared to 250 million views a day. By mid august, it had 7000 million views a day. By June 2008, 38% of the videos watched on the Internet came from YouTube. It's second highest number came in at 4%. I love to watch videos on YouTube, and I understand why it is the site with the most watched videos. -
Hurricane Katrina
The previous category 5 hurricane was a category 3 hurricane when it reached New Orleans. The water surged at some spots up to 12 miles inland. Flooding not the high power winds caused the majority of the damage. This is considered one of the most devastating hurricanes in the United States' history. I am affected by this because my dad was sent there to help clean up the debris, and I remember seeing all of those pictures at a young age. -
Parents Divorce
In April 2007 my parents called me and my sister into the living room to have a talk. They announced that they were getting separated, so a few months later my dad moved into his own house. It was a ranch with a small yard, and my sister and I shared a room. In 2008, they got divorced. We went on the great house search, and we found the perfect house. I love my life and if my parents haven't gotten divorced it would be drastically different. -
One Direction Created
In 2001 One Direction went on the TV show, the X Factor. The band contains Zayn, Louis, Liam, Harry, And Niall. They finished 3rd on the show. " Up All Night" their first album sold 3.4 million copies, and they reached number one in 17 countries. I love this group and my life would be drastically different. -
Dad's Engagement
This summer, my dad's family went on a cruise with my dad's fiance's family. On the formal night, there were photographers in the main lobby of the ship. So, that meant that we were all dressed in our best clothes. When we sat down for dinner, my dad proposed to Mrs. Laura, his fiance. On the way to Florida, we spent hours planning how he would propose. Our plan worked perfectly. I am extremely thankful that this happened because I love my family, her, and her family.
