The Bill of Rights were a set of rules or laws for the United States citizens to follow. They were signed in December 15th 1791. It was proposed by James Madison and was a document giving freedom and security to the people of the United States.

Lousiana Purchase

The Lousiana Purchase was a purchase of land from the France to the United States. It was a total amount of 828,000 square miles. It cost them 15 million; meaning that land was about 3 cents an acre.

Lewis and Clark Expedition Start

Lewis and Clark's expedition started in 1804 and was a expedtition from East to the West. This was the first American expedition across the Western part of America. This was commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson.

Lewis and Clark Expedition End

The expedition ended September 1806 and was an expedition to explore the newley purchased land. It also was to find a practical route through America. This established a America's presence to preven other countries from settling in the land.

Florida becomes U.S State

This Florida Territory was first discovered by the Spain in 1513. Then, Florida was taken by Great Britain and in short time it was given right back to Spain. After Spain's rule of Florida it was taken from the Americans in 1819.

Indian Removal Act

The Indian Removal Act was a document signed by Andrew Jackson. The law authorized that the Indian land be given up to the Americans to continnue there Westward Expansion. This act led to the Trail of Tears.

Trail of Tears

The Trail of Tears was un event that took place from 1838 to 1839. This was the trail the Indians made after being forcefully pushed from their homes. Americans forced them to leave their homelands and walk thousands of miles to a specially designated area

Mexican-American War Start

The Mexican-American War was an Invasion of Mexico, it was an armed conflict between the United States and the Centralist Republic of Mexico. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the war in 1848. America took the Mexicans land in exchange for $15 million.

Transconstitutional Railroad Completion

The transconstitutional railroad was a 1,907-mile (3,069 km) continuous railroad line. The Americans brought over Chinese workers to help construct the railroad. It is also called the Pacific Railroad and took a total of 36 years to complete.
