President Clinton is impeached
In 1998, president Bill Clinton was impeached on account of obstruction of justice and perjury. This event affected my life because 6 months after he was impeached my family migrated to USA. The senate voted and only 45 senators out of 100 voted for him to be removed from office. If he was removed from office and another person took charge of the country, the domestic policy in America could of changed and theres a chance I wouldn't be here today. -

Terrorists attack the World Trade Center
9/11 probably the most recognizable phrases in America. On that day terrorists from the middle east attacked the WTC in NYC. They also attacked the Pentagon in D.C. At this time of my life I was 7 years old. I was sitting in my 1st grade classroom when this horrible event happened. I will never forget coming home and seeing hundreds of people running on th television. Ever since this day America was changed forever and it will always be an important day in my life. -
USA starts the war on terrorism in the Middle East
Soon after America was attacked by terrorists, President George W Bush declared war on countries in the middle east. I remember watching this on television at home and being extremley confused about what was going on. I was only 7 years old and had no idea what was. I'm glad that America went to get revenge on the middle east for what they did. However im also sad that so many soldiers had to die for us -
USA invades Iraq
When 9/11 happened, in my head I remember saying that I hope America gets revenge on the middle east. Iraq was one of the major countries that were involved with the attack on the WTC. So it only made sense that we invaded Iraq and took over their country. Even though thats not exactly what had happened, USA did get revenge and im glad they did because terrorism needed to be stopped before any more harm came upon America -

Saddam Hussein hung by American Soldiers
Saddam Hussein was the 5th president of Iraq. He was accused of processing weapons of mass distruction. After 3 years of persuing him the United States finally captured him and was sentenced to be hanged. Iraq then adopted democracy. When this happened i was 11 years old and I still had no idea what was going on in Iraq. All i knew was that Iraq's leader had been killed. -
USA enters recession with Obama as president
In 2008 I was 13 years old. At this time in my life I had begun to see things differently in the world. I wanted a cellphone, a laptop, and many other expensive things. However the economy in America was not at its best. Many people were being laid off from their jobs and many people including my aunt were left without a job. This recession affected me because I had to learn the hard way that not everything in life was granted to you. -
Barack Obama officialy becomes president
Barack Hussein Obama was America's first african-american president. At this time of my life i was 14 years old. I remember sitting in my 8th grade math class watching the innaguration go on. My teahcer told us to make sure we remember this day because its a day in American history where politics started to change and people became more accepting of colored people. -

FIFA held the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This world cup was very important to me because I can recall almost every game that went on. Soccer is my passion, and USA is my country. So when USA (the underdog) tied England (the favorite) I felt a sense of pride to see that my country tied the country that they declared independence from so long ago -

Osama Bin Laden is killed
After 10 years of persuing the man that planned the attack on september 11, USA Navy Seal team 6 killed Osama Bin Laden durring the raid of his compound. This news came to me 2 days after I had turned 16 years old so it made it the perfect weekend for me. I was extremley happy to see that we had finally gotten revenge on the middle east for the attack they did on us. -
Hurricane Irene strikes the East Coast
In late August of 2011, soccer season was getting underway. We were preparing for the upcoming season and couldnt wait for our first scrimmage. However we didnt know that mother nature had a change of plans. Hurricane Irene made its way up the east coast doing a lot of damage in the Carolinas and hitting NJ and NY pretty hard. Most of my friends' house got flooded and it was really hard for me to drive around town and see all of peoples belongings on the curb waiting for the garbage truck. -

President Obama officially ends war in Iraq
After ten years of fighting in Iraq President Obama finally ends the war in Iraq. This was of great news to me because I have friends whos fathers and uncles were fighting in Iraq at the time. So to know that they were coming back home made me extremley happy because I am close to those people so it was like having my own uncle coming back home.
