  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a fight with the British soldiers against the colonists. The British fired their weapns that unfortunately they killed five people. And this event led to more colonial anger.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    The 13 colonies wanted to establish their own government separate from Great Britain. Thomas Jefferson wrote The Declaration of Independence. On July 4, 1776 the congress agreed on the Declaration of Independence and several people signed it saying that the 13 colonies were different from the British.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was made in 1803 by the President Thomas Jefferson. The Louisiana Purchase doubles the side of the United States of America. The Louisiana Purchase took control over the Mississippi River.

    Lewis and Clark Journey West

    Lewis and Clark were hired by the President Thomas Jefferson to go to explore the West. Lewis and Clark and other people traveled from 1804 – 1806 and explored the West. Lewis and Clark discovered a lot of new plants, new species, and they mapped out the West.

    The Trail of Tears

    Andrew Jackson wanted to move the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole West of the Mississippi River. Jackson approved “The Indian Removal Act”. About 6,000 Native Americans die on the trail so that why is called the “Trail of Tears”. (404-407) McDougal Littell
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin

    Uncle Tom's Cabin
    Uncle Tom's Cabin novel was published in 1852. This novel showed how slaves were treated like animals and it made people become a part of the abolitionist movenment.
  • The Battle of Fort Sumter

    The Battle of Fort Sumter
    The confederate states wanted to secede from the union states and the union states wanted to take federal forts from the confederate territory. The confederate leaders decided to attack Fort Sumter to take over. The attack of Fort Sumter starts on April 12, 1861 that led to start the civil war.
  • The Battle of Gettysburg

    The Battle of Gettysburg
    Lee had gotten further than ever and planned to crush all union hope by defeating the union again. The way this battle started was when some union shoulders ran into a confederate raiding party. They both called on for reinforcements and the battle of Gettysburg began. The battle went on for almost a full day the confederates captured a few trenches but in the end the Union held then off.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    The United States do not wanted to get involved in World War II. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese surprised attack Pearl Harbor and it killed 2,403 people. The United States got involved in World War II.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    Brown vs. Board of Education
    Linda Brown lived beside a white school but she had to go across the town to go to the black children school. Linda’s father and the NAACP sued to allow Linda go to the white school. On May 17, 1954 the Supreme Court said that all the schools cannot be segregated.
  • The Death of Elvis Presley

    The Death of Elvis Presley
    Elvis had already had some medical problems that required his dependency of drugs. On august 16, 1977 Elvis returned to his room after a dentist appointment at around 7:00. He was later found in the bathroom they rushed him to the hospital and pronounced him dead at age 42. It is believed that Elvis was killed by an overdose of many different prescription drugs but we can’t know for sure haw he dies because his father had the autopsy covered up until 2027.
  • September 11, 2001

    September 11, 2001
    On September 11, 2001 terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes and flew them into the World Trade Center in NY, the Pentagon in D.C, and a field in PA. The US president promised to punish the attackers.
