    The Boston Massacre was an event used to fuel anti-british feelings in the colonies. The colonists and British soldiers were harassing one another. Because of that, British soldiers openly fired and killed 5 colonists..
  • Declaration of Independance

    Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independance on July 4th, 1776. The document listed the principles of which the government for the United States would be built on. The Declaration of Independence also voiced reasons for seperation from Britain.
  • The Lousiana Purchase

    The Lousiana Purchase
    The lousiana Purchase took place in 1803. President Jefferson purchased the land for $15,000,000. That's for a mere $0.03 an acre. This is important because the land was an opportunity for people to move west, gain land, and farm. It doubled the size of the country and the mississippi river provided a convient way of trade.
  • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark Journey West
    President Jefferson hired Merriweather Lewis and William Clark to explore the land that he had just bought (the Lousiana Purchase). Clark was hired to create and draw new and accurate maps of the west. Lewis was hired to document all the new plants and animals unknown to European science. The journey would be a ong and tiring one full of dangers. These dangers would include the animals, unknown territory, weather, and native tribes.
  • The Trail of Tears

    The Trail of Tears
    When President Jackson placed the Indian Removal Act into place, the Cherokee went to the Supreme Court to protest. The court decided in favor of the Cherokee but Jackson had them sent away anyways. This 1000 mile journey was decribed as the Trail of Tears by the Cherokee. The Cherokee were forced to leave their home and travel to these reservations. 16,000 Choctaw Indianswalked the Trail of Tears. Out of all these Native Americans, between 5,000 and 6,000 of them died on the harsh journey.
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin

    Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book written in the north about slavery that became very popular and was the "spark" that started the abolitionist movement.
  • The Attack of Fort Sumter

    On April 12th, 1861, confederate guns fired at Fort Sumter. This event is important because it led to our freedom. Unfortunately, this was not an easy adventure. However, many citizens voluntedered to join the army anyway. 16,000 soldiers were in the Union Army total. In all, the war lasted three and a half days.
  • The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

    On April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was attending a performance of a play called "Our American Cousin". This production was being held at Ford's Theater in washington D.C. while the president was in the stage box appove the audience with his wife, a man name John Wilkes Booth shot the president in the back of the head. Then Booth jumped into the audience, broke his leg, but still managed to get away. The manhunt for Booth was one of the biggest searches in history.

    With the ambitions of started an NFL team from Phili, a $25,000 dollar franchise was bought. After they got a team together, they made their first appearance facing the Giants. Unfortunately, the Giants dominated and won by an amazing 56-0. But finally, they played their fourth game and won 6-0.
  • The Supreme Court Case Brown V The Board Of Education

    Five school segregation cases from all over th east coast came together into one case and presented themselves in front of the Supreme Court. Linda Brown (an African American), her father, and the NAACP's sued to allow Linda to attend a school closer to home. After that, the Supreme Court's new ruling was segregation in schools and other public facilities was illegial. Akthough this would be a challenge for this ruling to be enforced, this ruling soon led to integrated public schools.
  • Assassination of JFK

    John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He was assassinated sniper syle on November 22, 1963. Kennedy was fataly shot while traveling through the street with his wife, the governor of Texas, and his wife. The assassination of JFK was the fourth and most recent and successful assassination.

    On April 1, 1976, the first apple computer was created by three men. Their names were Steve Jobs, Steve Wozinak, and Ronald Wayne. Wayne sold his part of the gig for only $800 dollars. But, the two Steves went on to greatness.
  • The death of Elvis

    Elvis Presley was the king of pop was found unconcious in his home in Graceland. He was then pronounced dead. Leading up to his death, his health was plumthing and he gained a lot of weight.
  • September 11, 2001

    On September 11, terrists took control of four commercial planes and then flew them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field. 3,000 people were killed as the buildngs collasped. Osama bin Laden was responcible and after his followers wouldn't turn him over, the U.S. went to war with Afghanistan.
