This all started with Nixon getting paranoid about the democrats as he thought they'd win, so he sent a special team to breach in to take any information they can use against the democrats. They were all caught and arrested, which lead to a lot of pressure on Nixon leading to his decision to resign from office. This event lead to Ford (Nixon's Vice President) becoming president.

This event devastated the economy as the U.S was so dependent on oil. This all did end in March 1974.

    Reaganomics was president Ronald Reagans attempt to pay off a debt the U.S had. This basically cut taxes from the rich and making the lower class pay more taxes. This allowed the rich to make more money with their buisnesses to increase the economy. This did help a lot, but it also hurt the U.S as it only made a rich and poor class, there was no middle class. This all did end in 1982.
