    The Burning of Washington was during a British Invasion of the U.S. Capitol. It is the first time the Capital was controlled by a foreign nation. The British set multiple buildings afire. It began to rain after they started, extinguishing the fire.
  • Andrew Jackson invades Florida

    Andrew Jackson invades Florida
    Also known as the Seminole War, Andrew Jackson invaded Florida and attached the Seminole and Spanish Population. He took 3,000 men with him, and with no standing defenses, he swept through the region with ease.
  • Adam's-Onis Treaty

    Adam's-Onis Treaty
    It was a treaty between the U.S. and Spain, ceding Florida to the U.S. It was a result of the Seminole Wars, and Spain was forced into the treaty. It also helped define borders with Spain in what was to be Mexico's land.

    Held in Washington D.C., Andrew Jackson became the 7th president of the United States. His first of two terms, spanning 8 years if 1829 too 1837. The most memorable event from the inauguration was that he received a 1400 pound wheel of cheese.

    Annexation of Texas
    The Texan Annexation was a shock to Mexico, who still considered Mexico a part of them. The Republic of Texas was struggling, and asked the U.S. let them into the Union to protect them from Mexico and financial troubles.

    Ending of the Mexican-American War
    The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the war between the U.S. and Mexico. They gave up thousands of miles of land, which turned into the states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and California. The Mexico government had fled Mexico City, and called for peace.

    The Seneca Falls Convention was a meeting held to discuss Women's rights and the Women's suffrage movement. Despite this, it was 70 more years before Women were able to vote. There was women and men there, discussing open minded ideas for equality,

    A conflict between the Northern and Southern states about a States right to Slavery. It is the deadliest conflict in American history. There was 800,000 causalities. The Northern states won, ending slavery in the United States, and preserving the Union.
  • Ulysses S. Grant inauguration

    Grant's inauguration as the 18th president of the United States was of grand stature. 8 divisions of soldiers were present for a grand parade. Andrew Johnson did not attend the inauguration, for the last time since Donald Trump boycotted Joe Biden's inauguration.
