    This event is when all 13 colonies ratified the Constitution. The U.S. Constitution is one of the first most succsessful form of government. It gave every body unalienable rights.

    The Purchase of the Louisiana Purchase
    On April 11, 1803 Napoleon came over to the Eastern States looking to sell the LA Purchase for 15 million dollars. For about 3 cents an acre, this sale is a steal. The Americans thought that it was some kind of trick, but then they found out that the French was losing the war and needed money bad. On April 30, 1803 Thomas Jefferson signed the Louisiana Peace Treaty. On July 4, 1803 the treaty reached D.C. and became official,Thomas Jefferson doubled the size of America in one day.

    The California Gold Rush began when James Marshall found a gold nugget at Sutter's Mill, Coloma California. Word of the gold spread to Oregon and shortly after the news reached the East. People from all types of states and countries came to get a piece of this treasure. Some people struck it rich, but some went home with nothing.

    World War II is the deadliest conflict in all human history. It was originally between The Empire of Japan and East Asia, but became a worldwide war. WW2 was significant to America basically because it needed to protect it's image and cement its status as the new super power

    The U.S. had placed nuclear weapons in Turkey. The missiles were aimed at Moscow. The soviets felt un safe so they began to built weapons of their own. The Soviets tried to attack over sea, but our Navy stopped them. The U.S. and Soviets agreed to dismantle the weapons. It is important because it caused us to create a direct communication between Washington and Moscow.

    Mt. St. Helens was one of the worst volcanic eruptions in the world. Weeks before there was a series of earthquakes. After it erupted it left 11 miles of land covered with ash.
