    When Columbus set sail from Spain, he had three ships: the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. They made land on October 12, but it wasn't the East Indies like he though, it was one of the Bahamian islands.

About 60,000 Natives were moved, and it usually took weeks on foot, with few breaks and little food. Most of the Indians died just trying to get there.
