    A hospital is an institution for health care providing patient treatment by specialized staff and equipment. If the emergency is urgent then the doctors will get it taken care of immediately. For example when someone is about to give birth or having a heart attack they take them to the emergency room. If it's just allergies or headache problems then they go to the urgent care center. Hospitals are important because they save people that have critical injuries.

    Founding the United States
    America declared their independence after inning the war against the British. Thomas Jefferson Adams and Franklin were the main writers of the Declaration of Independence. The United States 13 colonies became states by declaring their independence. The government in which 9 officials are representatives in which are elected by the people. This event is important because it created a new beginning for our nation.
  • Beginning of the Civil War

    Beginning of the Civil War
    A war between the North and the South break down because of their differences between slavery. Lincoln was sworn as president and his inaugural speech he stated that "I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the states where it exists." Important because it defined the United States a single indivisible nation.

    13th Amendment
    The Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in 1865. The Thirteenth Amendment also protected the rights of the newly freed. The Thirteenth Amendment makes it illegal to commit any act that involves slavery. The Thirteenth Amendment is important today because now everyone is living their own lives without being bossed around in a forceful way.

    The inventor, Alexander Bell developed this idea and made him famous because communication would never be the same after the development of the telephone. House phones used to have a wire connected to it but no one owns those anymore. Now everyone makes phone calls on their electronic devices. Not only can we talk but we can text and download apps. It's important because it helps us to stay connected with others even if they're from a different country.

    Before the light bulb was invented, people often went to bed at sundown and got up at sunrise. Some lamps they used back then exploded and started fires. Then when light bulbs finally worked, people were able to work 24 hours a day. It changed the environment and helped people see clearly outside. Important because there would be a lot of car crashes and children could get lost in the street if it was never invented.

    The first ever created was called the Motorwagen. It only had enough space to fit one person. But that was in the 80s, now cars have enough seats for a whole family. They also go a lot faster now and have air conditioning. To this day they are still important because it's the best transportation we can get to go to work or on a vacation.

    The first electric hearing aid used a carbon transmitter to amplify sound by taking a weak signal and using electric current to make it a strong signal. They became popular by the 1930s. They are important because it helps people with a hearing loss to listen more in both quiet and noisy situations.

    In July of 1899, a huge group of Newsboys refused to sell newspapers that were published by Joseph Pulitzer (The New York World) and William Randolph Hearst (The New York Journal).
    Many rallies were hosted, and brought in more than 5,000 Newsboys across the city. The strike lasted two weeks, causing Pulitzer's New York World to decrease its circulation from 360,000 papers sold per day to 125,000. Important because now kids can't be pressured into working.

    Back then there used to silent films and black and white movies. Now they show movies in 3D and the audio is really loud. One interesting fact is that movie tickets used to cost only 49 cents. Today it's like $10 but it depends how many people you go with. It's important because you get a better experience seeing a brand new movie as soon as it's out.

    The 19th amendment guaranteed all American women the right to vote. Women protested for many decades to earn this right. It took 70 years. They weren't allowed to vote because of gender inequality. It's important because now everyone is allowed to express their opinions.

    Jazz provided jobs for women in the music industry and allowed social acceptance of female musicians. Jazz originated from the music of American slaves and to some is it a reminder of oppressive times, but to others, it is the beginning of recognition for the black history and culture in America. For the first time in history, the culture of a minority became the desire of the majority. Jazz music also exacerbated the racial tensions in the post war period. Important because it improved music.

    During the mid- to late 1920s, the stock market in the United States underwent rapid expansion. It continued for the first six months following President Herbert Hoover’s inauguration in January 1929. The first day of real panic, October 24, is known as Black Thursday; on that day a record 12.9 million shares were traded as investors rushed to salvage their losses. Led to the great depression. It's important because it was the lowest moments of life that people hit rock bottom and had no money.

    The Holocaust was when Adolf Hitler had ordered to separate the Jews and he would send them to concentration camps. What would happen at these camps they would work for ten hours they would erecting new blocks and buildings, laying roads, and digging draining ditches. This is important to remember because its good to tell the younger generation to continue to develop and understanding of the consequences of these ideologies and develop and develop a moral compass.

    During the final stage of World War II, the United States detonated two nuclear weapons over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945. The two bombings killed 129,000–226,000 people, most of whom were civilians. It was the world's first nuclear weapon used. It was important because it brought ww2 to an end.

    Martin Luther King was a civil rights leader who was known for his nonviolence and civil disobedience. He was fatally shot in the balcony of a hotel and died an hour later at the hospital. His assassination caused a major outbreak of violence in the U.S. Although, what matters is the message he left for us to spread to the world and it has changed many lives to this day. This is an important part of history because it has taught us that murder can not stop the struggle for equal rights.

    Fall of the Berlin Wall
    Before the Berlin Wall was created, there was tension between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, due to the major difference between their economic system, capitalism and communism. This lead to the Berlin Wall being created and the cold war had begun. After the Berlin Wall fell, Berlin was united. Germany was eventually united and the tension between the U.S and the Soviet Union decreased dramatically. This was important because starting that day, citizens have been able to cross the border.

It's something everyone in the world uses everyday. It can be bad because it distracts us from the real world. It's important because without it we wouldn't have new knowledge and we would just be bored.

    Columbine School Shooting
    At Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, two teens went on a shooting spree on April 20, 1999. They killed 13 people and wounded more than 20 others before turning their guns on themselves and committing suicide. The Columbine shooting was at that time, the worst high school shooting in U.S. history. It also prompted a national debate on gun control and school safety. It's an important part of history because we have more security now and keep an eye on suspicious students.
  • Attack on the World Trade Center

    Attack on the World Trade Center
    The attack of the World Trade center, was when a plane was high jacked by a foreigner and made the plane crash into the twin towers. Almost 3,000 people were killed on this day. It was all broadcasted live even after the 2nd plane hit. Most people blamed George W. Bush. This is important because it changed airport security and now airports have scanners.
