    The Battle of Hastings took place on October 16, 1066. This is important because it symbolized the beginning of the rule of all of England by the Normans who introcued feudalism to them.

    Moors were defeated by Ferdinand and Isabella. This event was important because they were determined to make all of their subjects Chrisitian. This part of how Christianity began to spread throughout the world.

    Spanish Armada defeated by England. This is important because Spanish would have been the main language throughout. However, England won so the course of history is the same.

    This was the first permanent settlement in America. This is important because it is America's birthplace.

    First slaves arrive in Virginia. This was important because they were the first slaves that arrived in Virginia and led on people to get more slaves. This later influenced segregation and Martin Luther King Jr.

    Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. This is importnant because it started the Mayflower Compact, which men signed the document and agreed on their religion they were going to bring to the Massachusetts.

    He defined geography as the study of interrelated spatial patterns. This is important because it has impacted and influenced the world in a such a huge way.

    Lousiana Purchase from Napoleon's France that effectively doubled the size of the USA. This is important because at that time, Jefferson was the president and it really increased the land area of the USA.

    The worlds reached its first billion people. This is important because it shows us that the world is developing and getting an increase in populations.From there, we can see the different parts such as the HDI or the population pyramid.

    He invented the mechanical reaper and trains. This is important because it made transportation a lot faster and communicationeasier for people.

    Samuel Morse invented the telegraph. This is important because it was the first form of communication from far or long distances.

    During the 1830s, trains were invented. This is important because it made communication and transportation a lot quicker back then and this was the base foundation for the speedy trains we know of today.

    During this time, the Industrial Revolution started. This is important because many items were invented during this time period and it would all lead to something important in the future, in the modern technology we know today.
  • Civil War

    The American Civil War started in 1861 and ended 4 years later, in 1865. This is important because this is a significant turning point in the U.S. and it gave the U.S. more land and less fighting and violence.
  • World War I

    In 1914, the Great War finally started and lasted for 4 years, finally ending the bloody battle in 1918. This is important because many countries, such as France, ended up gaining a lot of land and territory thanks to this war.
  • Great Depression

    In the year 1929, the Stock Market crashed and started the Great Depression. This is important because during this time, many people were suffering and prices on everything dropped, but they were still unaffordable to some people. But as time went on, the ecoomy grew better and better, and it eventually became to where we are now. This shows that the economy in America is good becuase it is still able to recover from such a great hit like that.

    Starting in 1939, World War II finally ended in 1945. This is important because even though it may have benefitted other countries, it did not benefit America as much. It left the country in huge debt and affected it in a negative way.
  • Communism Begins

    During this year, the People's Republic of China was founded, thus starting a reign of communism. This is important because this marks the start of communism which would continue in years to come.
  • Korean War

    The Korean War lasted for 3 years, starting in 1950 and ending in 1953. This is important because it is essentially the same as the Vietnam War. It created many refugees seeking shelter and increased the population of many neighboring countries and far away countries, such as the U.S.
  • Vietnam War

    In the year 1960, the Vietnam War started. This is important because it created many refugees trying to flee the dangers and move to somewhere safer. This caused a huge increase in population in the U.S. during this time becuase refugees who had been forced out needed a place to live until it became safer.
  • Communism Ends

    The USSR finally splits apart after the reign of communism ends. This is important because it shows that they are finally becoming independent and not having to use communism anymore.
  • Twin Tower Bombing

    On September 11, 2001, a tragic event occurred. The twin towers were bombed by a terrorist group. This is important because the country basically declared war on America and it marked the start of a bad history.
