    Thurgood Marshall: A lawyer and activist during the civil rights era that served as a Supreme Court Justice in 1967.
    Black Panthers: A civil rights organization that was founded in 1866.
    Non-Violent Protests/Civil Disobedience: A form of protest that does not use violence but instead breaks laws without harming anyone.
    Cesar Chavez: An American Labor leader and civil rights activist. He founded the United Farm Workers.

    AIDS Epidemic - A large surge in AIDs which was relatively unresearched at the time.
