Menelaus was was chosen by Tyndareus (father of Helen) for the marriage. Helen was the most beautiful women so Aphrodite led Paris to her. When Paris arrived he was accepted graciously as a guest, where the bond between host and guest are strong. Paris breaks that bond and steals away Helen.

After Menelaus summons all of greece to help aid him in getting back Helen they get stuck on Aulis as the winds were too strong. To move forward after Paris they needed to Sacrifice a royal maiden to appease Artemis, Iphigenia was chosen and they were able to sail north from Aulis.

Achilles and Agamemnon fight over Chryseis, Daughter of Apollo’s priest. Apollo reigns arrows down on the greeks. They give Chryseis back to her father and then Agamemnon takes Achilles maiden. Thetis the sea nymph Achilles' mother came to him, saying that he should have nothing more to do with the Greeks, then she went up to Zeus asking him to give success to the trojans.

After Zeus came down to help the Trojans Hera became upset. and devises a plan to put Zeus to sleep. The tide turns, He wakes back up, Zeus goes to talk to Hera, Hera blames Poseidon, Zeus makes Poseidon stop helping the greeks. Then the war goes in favor of the Trojans once again.

Menelaus leapt at Paris unarmed and grabs him by his helmet and swings him around, Aphrodite undoes the strap on Paris's helmet so he can escape. Prais runs away after Aphrodite helps him. Athena interferes after the dual at Heras prompting because she decided the war would not end until Troy was ruined

Patroclus puts on Achilles armor and takes his men to go fight the trojans, Patroclus dies to Hector's spear after he fought so bravely and pushed back the trojans, and Achilles says he will get his revenge. He is said to die right after he kills Hector.

Achilles gets armor forged by hephaestus and mows down the trojans, they flee back to the gate where Hector stands immovable. Achilles stabs Hector in the throat and sends him to the hades. Achilles then fastened Hector's dead body by his heels to the back of his horse where his head would trail on the ground and then he sent the horse to run around troy.

Odysseus comes up with the plan to make a wooden horse as a gift for the Trojans. Instead him and a bunch of greek soldiers hid in it to sneak past the gates.

Odysseus and his men wait till night time and then jump out of the horse and lay ruin to troy.
