    ** - Borden had caused a neutral change (0) because he gave the vote of supporters of conscription such as soldiers, and their relatives. He had led on the conscription and made a huge historical impact. However, he had also taken away access for the immigrants to vote and had partaken in huge discrimination towards them. Borden has benefited most French and English Canadians but did not to the immigrant Canadians. This act caused a political change due to grant of the voting rights to women.
  • Nellie Mcclung

    Nellie Mcclung
    ** - Nellie McClung, the women who had won the suffrage movement for women to vote caused a positive change (+2) because she led and to bring peace to the world and fight for women's suffrage, which brought the right for the woman in Canada to have a voice and bring on equality. This caused a beneficial social change to Canada because it was the lead to start getting women's voices on the map and she made women have the opportunity to have a say in what they can do and vote for.

    %% - The act created a negative change (-1) because they gave Canada the liberty to treat the 8500 German and Ukrainian immigrants or anyone outside of their heritage less than what they were worthy of and even developed a name to refer to them as (enemy aliens). They tried to cover up the Ukrainian and German heritage. This act created a political change because after immigrants started moving into Canada the 400 000 population of the German heritage was the 3rd largest ethnic group.

  • St. Eloi

    $$ - This act caused a negative change (-1) because the Canadian commanders had little information with the effectiveness of the battle. This made the Canadians suffer from 1, 373 casualties due to the confusion of the fighting, and had to change commanders. This event caused an economical change because of the loss of soldiers of the battle lists as what they needed to improve in the war. After the tragedies in this war, it lists as a low-end standard in the wars industry.
  • The Battle of the Somme

    The Battle of the Somme
    $$- This battle caused a negative change (-1) because the Canadian troops suffered from a ton of casualties (about 24 000) and leaving the allied forces with 650 000 casualties, but also did kill a significant amount of the allies (up to 626 000 more). This event caused an economical change because after this event the development of orders had changed and evolved. The troops made the wars economy more efficient by learning to change their ways when moving onto the next battle.

    The Battle of Vimy Ridge
    - This battle caused a positive change (+2) because, after the war, the battlefield became a memorial park when France granted Canada the right to use the land forever. This had led to the turning point of Canada and had given Canadians a huge sense of pride for their dear country. This event caused a revolutionary change because gaining a memorial park for Canadians was a revolutionary success that would be remembered by Canadians and how they would memorialize this great success.
  • The Attack on Hill 70

    - This act caused a positive change to Canada (+1) the commander Sir Arthur Currie had a plan to attack the on hill 70 where the Germans would be caught by surprise, they had lost over 9,000 soldiers but also had killed around 25, 000 Germans. This act had benefited Canada in a sense of killing more Germans but in the process also lost some soldiers of their own which causes a slight economical change by using the attack as an event to look back on and how it affected the war economy.
  • Wartime Elections Act

    %% - The act had a neutral change (0) because the election rules and some women were permissible to vote while others hadn’t due to changes in the enfranchisement. This was the first step of one of the official rights for Canadian women to vote which meant this was the first event held in order to have the rights we have today. This act created a political change to Canada and benefited some, but took a right away from the different heritages that weren't French or English due to discrimination.
  • The Halifax Explosion

    - This act had caused a major negative change (-2) to Canada during the war because the event caused 1, 963 deaths, 9,000 injured, and 6,000 homeless. It had caused many losses in recruitment and also had led to the revolutionary change of how many lives were lost in this explosion. Looking back at the war allows us to memorate all the soldiers who lost their lives, but memorializing this event is more revolutionary and well known because of the number of deaths it caused.

    - This event caused a positive change (+2) because it was at the final days of war and they were close to ending with major success. Moving forward they used similar strategies and had pushed their way through the battles and in each battle they progressed more which caused a revolutionary change because these tactics and strategies that were used in war, are the ones being remembered and the significance of it really shows. These strategies are revolutionary because of how it changed Canada.
