My dad was transferred to Illinois for work, so my family moved. However, my dad was offered another promotion but was asked to move to Iowa with it. After a year and a half in Illinois, my dad turned down the promotion and my family moved back to Michigan to be closer to family. (The picture is from our backyard in Illinois.)

When I was five years old, after years of receiving stuffed animals, I asked Santa for a "real dog" for Christmas. We got our little puppy in 2003 and named her Sophie. We had her for 14 years until she passed away in 2017.
