    First Exposure to Television
Ever since I was a baby, my mom would love to bring me near her to watch television. I learned my first words by watching television, specifically "kris aquino" and various game-show terms.
  • First Exposure to Comics

    First Exposure to Comics
Ever since my dad brought home old marvel comics from his trip to america, I started to pick them up and glance at them. I was a visual and word based learner. My mom would give me comics when I was bored or noisy to help calm me down.

    First Exposure to Radio
My dad would often listen to the radio when taking a bath. Ever since I could crawl around the house, I listened to the loud noises coming from the bathroom near where my dad was showering. Up to thi day, I can still remember the "mama mary loves you jingle" that would play every night near Dr. Love's segment.

    First exposure to Books
Ever since I started to show my parents that I was interested in reading, they let me read an actual bible. The bible was an odd book indeed. The bible had in it many great stories of ancestors, but also held in it the real life scenarios of cruelty, war, rape, violence, and the like. Reading the bible really opened my perspectives of the world, and what was right and wrong.
  • First exposure to Newspapers

    First exposure to Newspapers
Every morning, my dad would often read these obscure long pieces of paper. I asked what they were, and he told me all about them. He taught me about the different parts of the newspaper, and what they were all for. I loved the newspaper, it had a sufficient amount of images to complement the long lines of text. Before you knew it, every morning, I was hurrying to grab one before my dad would.

First Exposure to computers and internet

  • First exposure to floppy disks

    First exposure to floppy disks
Whenever I would play browser games on my computer, I wondered what the funny looking square things were, always lodged on the slits of the CPU. My cousins explained to me what floppy drives were, then from that day onward, I started to save random music I found online, one those huge floppy disks.
  • First exposure to magazines

    First exposure to magazines
My parents would often leave racks of magazines near the bedside where we slept. I was often enamored with the picture filled papers and would often read them alone. I one found my way into a stack of daddy's FHM magazines, and well, lets just say things started going downhill from there on.
  • First exposure to social media

    First exposure to social media
I would often hear my yayas talk to their connections on the phone whenever they had free time. I would often hear the unfamiliar word "friendster". During one of the many small-talks I had with my yaya, I asked what friendster was. She then showed me an entirely new world of social connection, the world of social media.
