    Onwards from the 13th century, the prince electors who were high nobles, elected people as King of the Romans. Whoever it was, was then elected by the pope.

    The Ming dynasty succeeded the Yuan Mongol dynasty. Zhu Yuanzhang was the founder of the Ming dynasty.

    Portuguese capture Cueta, starting an empire

    The conquest of Cueta was the beginning of the Portuguese Empire. 200 ships assembled in the Algarve port of Lagos and then went through the Strait of Gibraltar and conquered the Islamic port and city in North Africa

    End of Zheng He's voyages

    Zheng He was a Chinese Muslim eunch explorer sent by the Ming Dynasty on 7 missions to secure tribute and increase trade. He died in the middle of his seventh voyage in Calicut. His body was sent home.

    Pachakuti launches Inca conquests

    Pachacuti, the 9th Inca ruler attacked and conquered the Cuzco Valley. He also founded Machu Picchu.

    End of Hundred Years' War

    When it was clear that no help would come from England and the French were too strong, the Hundred Years' War ended when Bordeaux surrendered. By doing this, he left Calais as the last English possession in France. The Treaty of Paris was signed by Louis the 9th and Henry the 3rd.

    Constantinople was conquered by the Ottoman Empire Army under the command of Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the 2nd. Constantinople was bombarded by canon weaponry and tactics designed by Mehmed the 2nd.

    In 1492, Ferdinand and Isabella, two Catholic monarchs, conquered Granada. King Boabdil surrendered Granada to the Spanish forces and the Reconquista ended.
