    (to 1762)Attended college at the university of William and Mary. He studied Law and Government and found his love for politics.
  • Continental Congress

    Was elected to the Continental Congress. Continental Congerss was one of the first leader ships for the British colonies. Used it to discuss terms for the Colonies between England.
  • TJ drafts the Decloration of Independence.

    Thomas Jefferson finishes the draft for the Decloration of Independence to send to the British.
  • Became the Govenor of Virginia.

    Was elected to be the Govenor of Virginia from 1779-1781.
  • First Ever Secratary of State

    Thomas Jefferson was hand-picked by George Washington to be his Secratay of State (first ever).
  • Elected as Vice President

    Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson had been battling in the election for president. But also slowly grew to hate eachother but in the end Burr was elected as president and TJ as Vice President. Their hatred towards eachother had made a mess in the government.
  • Finally President!

    TJ was finally elected as president and served another term after that.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    TJ had made one of the biggest purchases of land the U.S. has ever seen and will ever see! Buys the Louisiana territory from Napoleon of France for $23,213,568! In the end it was all worth it and took them even closer to their dream of owning all of the (future)U.S.
  • Lewis and Clark Expedition

    TJ sent two explorers, Lewis and Clark to find out what was in the Louisiana Territory. And though it took them about 3 years in the end it gave the U.S. a sense of duty to move the west. This helped bring population to the west very quickly.
  • TJ's University

    TJ funded and helped open the University of Virginia still standing to this day. (Can't find exact date)
  • Death of TJ

    Died in Monticello, Virginia just five hours before the death of Samuel Adams.
