  • Industrial Revolution (Green)

    Before the Industrial Revolution started, the world was mostly domestic consumption (Green). But during and after the the Industrial Revolution, the world become mostly a foreign consumption (Green). With foreign consumption, everybody is affected by what each country makes. If one country makes an airplane wing, then another country is responsible for making the engine. Everyone is dependent on one another .

    Population Dramatically Increasing (Green)

    At the beginning of the 1800s, there were approximately 1 billion people living. Now, in 2016, there is approximately 7 billion people living. Even though this is over a long span of time, the population of the world is increasing by an insane amount! This effects Globalization because if there is more people, then there are more jobs needed to fulfill everyone's needs.
  • Green Revolution (Beck)

    The Green Revolution was a campaign by agriculture scientists promoting the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and high-yield, disease-resistant strains for a variety of crops. This helped get rid of famine in Asia and increase yields of crops in many different parts of the world. Although fertilizers and pesticides are dangerous, and the price for the chemicals are very expensive, it brought great promises for increases in food production in a world with an expanding population.

    Between the three decades 1950s-1970s, space exploration became immensely competitive between the USA and the Soviet Union. Both created manned and unmanned space programs to race to see how could get to the moon and beyond first. Eventually, space exploration became one of the world’s first and most successful areas for cooperation between the USA and Soviet Union scientists.
  • Satellites (Beck)

    Since the 1960s, artificial satellites were sent into space to orbit around the Earth. The significance of this is that it lets the whole world communicate. Because of this, the whole world became closer. We can now see live broadcasts from all different countries that show us political and cultural events happening. Satellites connect the world by so much that most of the world watched the Princess of Wales funeral in 1997 (Beck).
