    The wedding was planned by Zeus (Jupiter) himself and took place on Mt. Pelion. Mortals and immortals alike were invited and all were required to bring gifts.The goddess of discord and the personification of strife, Discord was the only immortal not invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis. Angered, she threw out a golden apple inscribed with the words, “For the Fairest.” Three goddesses, Hera (Juno), Aphrodite (Venus), and Athena (Minerva), immediately begin to quarrel over the apple

    Judgement of Paris

    Paris picked Aphrodite for the title “The Fairest.” In return Aphrodite helped Paris kidnap Helen, wife of the King Menelaus of Sparta. Stories conflict as to weather if Helen fell in love with Paris (with the help of Aphrodite) and left willingly, or if she was forcefully abducted by Paris. In either case this event set into motion the Trojan War for the next ten years.

    Menelaus is the king of Sparta who was robbed of his sweet wife Helen by a guest he received in his palace. For his sake, a fleet of unprecedented size sailed to Troy in order to demand, by persuasion or by force, the restoration of Helen and the Spartan property that the seducer Paris, breaking all laws of hospitality, had stolen.

    The first nine years of the war consisted of both war in Troy and The war against the neighboring regions,the Greeks realized that Troy was being supplied by its neighboring kingdoms, so Greeks were sent to defeat these areas,as well as destroying Trojan economy, these battles let the Greeks gather a large amount of resources and other spoils of war, including women.

    That night, after most of Troy was asleep or in a drunken stupor, Sinon let the Greek warriors with Odysseus out from the horse, and they slaughtered the Trojans. Priam was killed as he huddled by Zeus' altar and Cassandra was pulled from the statue of Athena and raped
