    Wedding of King Peleus and Thetis
    Peleus and Thetis were getting married, and Eris was not invited. She threw her gift over the gate. The gift was a golden apple that had, "to the fairest' written on it. Aphrodite, goddess of beauty, Athena, goddess of wisdom and war, and Hera, wife to Zeus, and goddess of women and marriage all fought for the apple, They had the Trojan prince Paris choose between them. Aphrodite won by giving him the most beautiful women Helen, wife of Menelaus of Sparta.

    Paris Abducts Helen
    The war was triggered by the Trojan prince Paris abducting the wife of Menelaus of Sparta, Helen. Menelaus demanded for her return and the Trojans refused. Menelaus then persuaded his brother Agamemnon, then led an army against the people of Troy.

    Aphrodite Proceeds to Help Paris
    Paris has shot and killed a number of Greeks. Once he fought one on one with Menelaus, he was in danger of being killed. Just until Aphrodite continues to help him by breaking the strap on Menelaus' helmet which he was clutching on. Aphrodite then covered Paris in a mist so he can escape back to Helen of Troy.

    Patroclus takes place of Achilles
    Achilles had a good friend at Troy named Patroclus. He tried to persuade Achilles to fight because he was competent a warrior that he can turn the tide of battle. Nothing changed for him , so he refused. Patroclus asked Achilles if he could take his place as the leader of his men, the Myrmidons. Then the greatest of the Trojan heroes, Hector, mistaking Patrolcus for Achilles, ended his life.

    During the war, nothing happened really. Soldiers fought, some probably died, and no one won. As everything happens, for a second before all of this, the Greeks thought that someone else might have abducted Helen, until they realized that it was the Trojan prince Paris.

    The Wanderings of Odysseus

    Odysseus has been away from Ithaca for twenty years. The first ten, he was part of the war between the Greeks and the people of Troy. The other ten years he spent with his men trying to get home to his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus. He went from island to island to fourteen different islands, then got home. With some of his men turned into pigs by Circe, and others dead, he successfully made it back to Ithaca. He returned home in the year of 1178 B.C.E.
