Patroclus tries to convince his good friend Achilles to join the war because he would be such a valuable asset on the battlefield. Achilles declines the offer but lets Patroclus lead his troops into battle in his armor. -

Murder by mistake
Since Patroclus was in the battle wearing Achilles armor and leading Achilles' troops, Trojan leader mistook Patroclus for Achilles and killed him. -

Driven by rage Achilles enters the battle and kills hector and then drags his body around his chariot, then he hung it on the chariot. Soonafter Priam (Hectors father and king of Troy) persuades Achilles to return the body. -
