    Paris visited King Menelaus, husband of Helen, in Sparta. Menelaus treated Paris as a royal guest, but when Menelaus left Sparta, Paris abducted Helen (who went willingly) and she also took a lot of Menelaus wealth with her.

    Menelaus and Agamemnon create an army of men, including the Greek heroes Achilles, Odysseus, Nestor and Ajax, and set sail under Agamemnon's lead to find Paris and get Helen back. They reach Troy and try to overtake the city, and the Trojan War begins.

    Chryseis' father prayed to Apollo for help in rescuing his daughter. Apollo helped him and sent a horrible plague on the Greeks. Eventually Achilles discovered the cause of the pestilence and forced Agamemnon to let Chryseis go. Agamemnon agreed but he wanted to keep Briseis as compensation for his compliance.
