After joining the party, in february, he changed the party's name to National Socialist German Workers Party or the Nazis Party.

Then in 1924, he was sent to jail for a 5 year-sentence, but he only served 9 months. While in prison, he wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle).

+eliminating democracy and calling upon a "Fuhrer" to rebuild the German Reich. -
He was appointed Chancellor of Germany by President Hindenburg.

The German parliament (Reichstag) building burned down due to arson.Hitler blamed it on the Communists. He granted emergency powers.
