Dred Scott vs Standford
Supreme Court case which Dred Scott, a slave sued for his freedom. He was taken to territory where slavery was illegal. However, slaves were referred to as property. Therefore, they can not sue in US court. -
Attack on Harpers Ferry
To do this plan John Brown and his men had to capture weapons in the US Arsenal at Harper Ferry Virginia. Brown and his men were eventually captured and killed. No other slaves joined the fight. -
Election of 1860
This election turned into two different races for presidency. One in the North one and in in the South. Lincoln and Douglas were the canidates with much support in the North.
