In 622, someone tried to kill him, so he moved to a city called "Madinah", marking the beginning of the Hijra era of the Islamic lunar calender, and also paving the way for Muhammad's metamorphosis from a preacher to a political and military leader.

The military period started in 624. (624) The Battle of Badr (victory), (625) The Battle of Uhud (defeat), and (627) The Battle of the Trench (victory).

In 628, a treaty was signed between the two sides, which recognized the Muslims as a new force in Arabia and gave them freedom to move unmolested throughout Arabia.

He conquered Mecca in 630. He marched on Mecca and was joined by tribe after tribe along the way.
