I was born in Atlanta on this day to Michael and Jennifer Hagerty. My two older sisters gained another little sister! The third girl in the family within 4 years. -
Nashtopia - Personal
This was the day that I moved to Nashville from Mobile! I adore Nashville, I have spent the rest of my life here. We started in an apartment in Nashville, then moved to our beloved farm the following year. One set of grandparents lived there, and the other set followed a few years later! -
Sign Language - Professional
During this week, I attended a sign language camp with my sister. She tutored two deaf boys at the Boys and Girls Club, and I wanted to be just like her. She also started the Best Buddies chapter at Lipscomb because of her experience. She inspired me for what I want to do today! -
School Finally - Personal
This was my first day of 7th grade when I attended my first day of a tutorial (co-op) ever! I had never attended school outside of being homeschooled with my mom, and I was so excited about finally going every thursday with my sisters. -
Pneumonia - Personal
I was always incredibly skinny growing up, and people accused me of being anerexic all the time. Getting pneumonia not only put me out of school and life for two weeks, but it also caused me to lose 15 pounds, which made me look pretty rough. I remember wearing turtle necks and scarves for months until I could gain enough weight back to look right again. -
Tears - Personal
This is the day that my oldest sister moved out for good, and my other sister was living with a friend in Ohio. I cried every day for weeks, thinking I would never have the same relationships with them that I had. I was right. -
Emmett - Professional
This little boy is the reason I want to teach special education. I taught karate all through high school, and one of the guys I taught with was married to a behavioural therapist who worked with Emmett. He has autism and is nonverbal, but we have a connection and my favourite thing in the entire world is to snuggle with this sweet 5 year old. He was 2 when we met. -
Grad - Professional
This was the day I graduated from high school, and I knew I was on my way to CNC soon! I was undeclared, debating between journalism and elementary education. I had no idea I would change that so dramatically. -
Carson-Newman Visit - Professional
This is the day that I found one of the most influencial places of my life! I visited CNC that day with my very best friend, Savannah Weathers, and we decided to come here together the next month after many unseccful visits to other schools. -
Major Change - Professional
I finally decided what I wanted to do with my life, and I had never been more sure of any decision before.
