Bud Walch Finds Chris's Car

Chris Passed the Mexican Border
Returned on January 11, 1991 but was caught by the Immigration Police. -
Bullhead City
Chris spent more two months in Bullhead where he worked at McDonald's and lived in a vacant motor home. -
Chris talks to Jan
About a month earlier Chris sent a letter to Jan that had a return address on it. She wrote back and said her and Bob would come see him. -
Chris lives with Jan.
Chris went back to Niland with Jan and Bob to live in the slabs with them. While there Tracy, a 17 year old girl, fell in love with Chris.This is also when everyone at the slabs found out he was awesome at playing music. -
Chris meets Ronald Franz
On the way back to Chris' camp that he has had set up for a week or two he gets a ride from Franz after buying rice and filling up his water jug. The first time in six years the Franzs has ever heard of Oh-My-God hot springs. -
Chris leaves Franz
While with Franz he would cook out for them either at his camp site or at Franzs house. Franz taught Chris to make leathher belts. Franz began thinking of Chris as a son. -
Chris calls Franz
A day ago, unable to find works Chris calls Franz, after hoping trains and getting tost into jail, and asked if he could come to Coachella, California to pick him up. Chris then leaves and goes to Wayne Westerberg to work at the grain elevator. -
Chris leaves Wayne Westerberg
Chris has worked for Weserberg since March now and has his mind set on eading to Alaska. Although Westerberg was shorthanded at the grain elevator Chris couldn't stay. -
Chris meets Gaylord Stuckey
While at Liard River Hotspring, where Chris had been for two dys now, Chris was unable to find a ride until Stuckey came in one day. Stuckey was delivering a moter home to a dealer in Fairbanks but sadly couldn't take Chris at first. After talking for a while Stuckey liked Chris and agreed to take him to Fairbanks. Stuckey then droped Chris off at the University of Alaska on April 25, 1992 at 5:30pm. -
Chris sends out letters
Chris sent a letter to Wayne and Jan saing the he arrived in Alaska two days earlier and its going to be the last letters he sends until he leaves. -
Chris meets Jim Gallien
While hiking to Denali National Park where Chris intended on starting his journy he met Gallien. Gallien then gave Chris a ride to a trail near the park, the Stampede Trail. On April 28th He droped Chris off and they went there seperate ways. -
"Magic Bus Day"
Three days into his journy he came across a bus and desided to spend some time there semming how it had a bed, stove, and some small supplies. -
Chris Leaves Bus
After staying in the bus for four days he desides to leave and continue his adventure. Over the next four days he only kills two animals, a spruce, and a small squirrel. After another six weeks he becomes much more succesful plus all the snow has melted giving him access to plants. -
Chris returns to bus
He choose to make the bus his base camp and hunt wildlife around the area. Throughout June he hunted a lot and got quite a bit every few days but on June 9th he killled a moose! He tried to preserve it the best he could but failed due to maggots. -
Chris leaves camp
Feeling as though he had done all he wanted to do he attempts to make his way back to civilization. Sadly, on July 5th he comes to the river but it is now flooded. Not finding a way across he turns around and goes back to the bus.Returns on July 8th -
Chris is starving
In late July Chris had run out of food and was hungry enough to eat potato seed, the seeds ended up poisoning him and he slowly died from there on out.He started eating them on June 24th and by July 30th he became very sick. -
DAY 100!!!
Chris has seccesfully lived in Alaska for 100 days. Even though he is very weak and can not move due to the posiond seeds he managed to make it to 100! -
He walks again!!
The last few days he has shot at te wildlife around the bus but only killed squirrels and one ptarmigan. On this day he manages to get up and go find some berries. Before he left he left an SOS note for anyone who passes by. -
His last words...
Chris knew he was not going to make it, so he wrote a note and layed down to die. He most likely died on the 18th only 19 days before his body was found. He lasted 112 days in the Alaskin wilderness. -
Carine finds out the news...
Carine, Chris's little sister, was washing her dog when Chris Fish pulled into the driveway. They were inside then and he told her that her brothers body was found and he had died in Alaska. Later Carine and Fish had gotten into the car to go to Walt and Billies house 4 hours away.
