    Leonard Kleinrock
    A new way of communicating between the internet was developed by Leonard Kleinrock. This method was called packet switching. This method divded mesages into packets before being sent out. Without this more secure way of sending out mesages, the government's computer network would have been more susceptible to attack.

    Vincent Cerf and Bob Kahn develop the TCP/IP protocol which allows for communication between a diverse set of computers. TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol.

    The Altair 8800 was the first personal computer invented by MITS co-founder Ed Roberts in 1975. Although the computer was not user friendly, many user were fascinated by it. It had no monitor or keyboard, but it allowed users to create their own programs. The personal computer only contained 256 bytes of memory.

    Tim Berners-Lee develops the World Wide Web which was more than just a way of communcation but a way to access a plethora of information. The WWW is a subset of the internet and contains hypertext.
