    The Charter of 1732 was a document that granted Georgia the right to create a government. It was granted by thr King of England. It said the three main purposes for founding Georgia were monics, charity, and defense. The Charter said rum and slavery were not allowed in Georgia. Lawyers, blacks, and Catholics were the three groups not allowed in Georgia. The charter put 21 trustees in charge. The 21 trustees had 3 restrictions put on them. They could not own land, hold office, of get paid.

    Founding of Savannah
    The first city founded in Georgia was Savannah. James Oglethrope founded it. He and his men arrived there on the ship Ann. Tomochichi gave them permission to land at Yamacraw Bluff. Tomochichi and Oglethrope spoke differernt languages so they communicatede through Mary Musgrove. She spoke both languages.

    The Salzburgers founded Ebenezer. They moved from their original location because they were kicked out of their former original location by the Catholics and there were no Catholics aloud in Georgia.

    The HIghland Scots founded Darien. They were recruited to Georgia because they were known for their military force and they were needed to protect the colony from the Spanish.

    Oglethorpe led the Georgia colonists in this battle against the Spanish. The Georgia colonists won. The Highland Scots helped us win this battle. This battle was important because the Spanish felt defeated and because of this, they didn't invade Georgia anymore.

    The Malcontents always complained about the Trustees. They weren't happy with the Trustees because there was no slavery, no rum, and no land inheritance. When Georgia became a royal colony, John Reynolds was in charge. The rulers of Georgia in order are John Reynolds, Henry Ellis, and James Wright.

    The war was fought between the French, Indians and British. The British won the war. The British won a huge amount of land in North America from the French. This was a cause of the American Revolution because the war costed so much money so the British raised taxes just on the 13 American colonies. The colonist didn't like this and it led to the American revloution.

    The Proclamation of 1763 said that all the western land belonged to the Indians and that the colonists could not move west like they wanted to. King George decided to issue the proclamation because he wanted to avoid war. The colonist were angry about it because they wanted the lndinas and they thought it was their's, not the Indinas.

    The Stamp Act taxed everything that was on paper. So newspaper, lisences, playing cards-evrything was taxed. The British passed this law to help pay for the French and Indian War. The colonist were angry about it because they thought it was unfiar for only th 13 colonies to be taxed instead of everyone being taxed.

    The British passed these laws because the colonists participated in the Boston Tea Party. There were 4 acts passed. They were the Boston Port Act, which closed down ports. The second was the Massachusetts Government Act, which meant that there was no more town meetings. The third act was the Administration of Justice Act, which said that and British soldier court case would be in England. The fourth act was the Quartering Act, which said that British soldiers could get clothes, food and shelter

    The main author of the Declarationof Independence was Thomas Jefferson. It said that the colonies were free from Great Britian. The three men from Georgia to sign it were Lyman Hall, Button Gwinnett, and George Walton.

    The Battle of Kettle Creek was fought between the Patriots andthe British. The patriots one the battle. Elijah Clarke led the patriots to victory. The only black soldier to fight in this battle was Austin Dabney. He recieved a piece of land in Madison county for his service.

    Savannah was in control by British. France helped the Patriots in the battle. The British won the battle and kept control of Savannah for another 3 1/2 more years.
