    Because of resources such as Khan acadamy in the early to mid 2000s, there was a rise in free, opensource education that people, particularlily post college age, began to utilize heavily. The percentage of people returning to graduate school after work in industry decreased becuase of the opportunities offered to them for free.

    Due to increasing fuel prices, and improved computing technology, all classes for secondary school students were converted to an online format that didn't require travel. There was a hope to convert classes for primary school students in the near future.

    Through research on the attention spans of younger children, educators were able to format online education in a way that worked for the adolsecent mind.
