    The Erie Canal opened and helped the frontier get goods to and from the more settled places for a lot cheaper and a lot quicker.
  • The Great Migration

    The great migration was a massive movement of people west along the Oregon trail, and was led by Marcus Whitman.
  • The Gold Rush Started

    During the California gold rush a large amount of people moved out west to the frontier to try to get rich quick if they could. Leaving behind all that they could not bring with them and venturing the frontier themselves to gain riches and glory.
  • Elisha Kane goes farther North than before

    In 1853 Elish Kane led an expedition to the Arctic and was himself exploring a frontier in a different place than America. Showing how the U.S. was more than the only frontier around.
