    In this policy, George Washington was involved, and he made a proclamation stating that the U.S. will remain neutral with other countries.     Alien and Sedition Acts
    In this policy, John Adams and other foreigners were involved. What happened is that 3 different laws were created to deal with foreigners and rebels. It said that foreigners had to live in the U.S. for 14 years in order to be a citizen, and that people could be imprisoned for criticizing the government.     The people involved with this policy was Thomas Jefferson,and Pasha, Pasha being the leader of North Africa. To give a little more info about what was previously happening was that the U.S. would send ships to trade with countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. The U.S. had to pay Pasha for protection from pirates, but when the U.S. didn't pay Pasha, Pasha declared war. Finally, with the U.S. winning the war, and the U.S.'s navy increasing.     The people involved in this policy were Thomas Jefferson and France. France, in this policy, offered Louisiana for $15mil., which was an area of land covering about 15 states, including the Mississippi River. The U.S. quickly accepted, and soon sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition in 1804-06. This affected the U.S. because we obtained the Mississippi River and the land that now has 15 states in it.     War of 1812
    During the time of this event, James Madison was president, and France was going into a revolution. Britan was at war with France, too, so when the U.S. was trading with France, U.S. sailors were impressed, or held prisoner, by the British navy. After this, the U.S. declared war, of which we. won.     Monroe Doctrine
    The people involved in this policy were James Monroe and Britan. Some of the background on this event was that all Latin America colonies had gained independence. Because of this, the U.S. decided to make a document which states that if Europe moves into the hemisphere of which the U.S. is on, Europe is to be considered a danger.     Tariff Abominations
    In this policy, John Quincy Adams was involved. In this event, it included factories in the U.S. What had happened is that goods coming in from foreign countries had a tariff placed on the goods, which is similar to a tax. From this, the South had to pay more, but the North didn't, which is because the Tariff Abominations were for the Northern factories.     In this policy, Andrew Jackson was involved, and so were Northern Indians. What had happened is that Andrew Jackson was worried about the rights of Indians. Although Andrew Jackson was worried, many of the white settlers pressured him to march them West, of which he did.
