  • The start of something good...

    The start of something good...
Jared Leto and his brother Shannon Leto created a band while living in L.A. and called it 30 Seconds to Mars, based on a theory created by a professor at Harvard. They felt that this name embodied the way their music would hit their listeners. The two brothers had been surrounded by music and art their entire lives. Jared ,who is also an actor, initially went to school for painting, but realized that wasn't the only art form he was gifted at. Shannon had always been in tune with the drums.

After years of having stand in guitarists, the band finally finds Tomo Milicevic who not only becomes their lead guitarist, but also their keyboardist, and violinist. Tomo is native to Croatia, but his family moved to L.A. in his late childhood. He was classically trained in violin and by the age of 9 was writing his own music. He was gifted at an early age with musical talent, but guitar was his calling and what brought him to 30 Seconds to Mars.

The bands 3rd album is released called, "This is War." When asked about it, Jared Leto said that it had to do with the bands ideals in life changing. It also had to deal with the large lawsuit that Virgin Records tried against them in 2009, but it was quickly dropped after the band decided that they would fight back. • 300 show draws it all to a close

The 300 record breaking show is played in New York Cities' Hammerstein Ballroom. This was a long way coming for 30 Seconds to Mars, but their following, the Echelon, are very loyal, it has often been called a cult. If you weren't able to join the show in person, MTV had a special where you could watch it live online as well. This opened up the possibilities for Echelon everywhere. The band now is taking a break from touring for a while, but Echelon everywhere hope to hear some new music soon.
