    BackRub operates on Stanford servers for more than a year – eventually taking up too much bandwidth. The site starts becoming soo populer that they decide to get a different name. Reason: I don't think that backrub is catchy enough to become that popular. So changing would be very good.

The use of the term reflects their mission to organize a seemingly infinite amount of information on the web. Reason: The choosing of google is one of the most important names in history. Thats why you dont hear. "Backrub it".
