    The Fugitive slave act was amended and the slave trade with Washington D.C ,was abolished.California entered the union as the 16th free state. The source was the New Georgia Encyclopedia.

  • The election of 1860

    Republican Abraham Lincoln defeated southern Democrat John C. Breckinridge,Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, and candidate John Bell. My source for the election of 1860 was the New Georgia Encyclopedia.

  • Gettysburg

    The bloodiest battle overall,and the confederate won the battle.One of the main reason the battle was fought hear was becuase it was very easy to locat ,and find.Found in the New Georgia Enclyopedia.

    Chickamauga was a war in the south.The north came down to the south to take away the Chattanooga railroad.An important rail junction and getaway to the Deep South.Found in New Georgia Enclopedia.

  • Freedmen's Bureau

    The freedmen's bureau was the first organization of its kind . It was established schools, hospitals ,and labor systems for freedmen. This information was found in the ''New GA Encyclopedia"

  • The KKK

    KKK is short for Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan was a white supremacist organization. The KKK would go around murdering, lynching, arson, raping, and bombing . They mainly killed blacks, Jews , and Catholics. I got this information from the New GA Enclyclopeda.
