    In 1940 Benjamin Mays became presidant at Morehouse college. He taught Martin Luther King Jr. while he was at the college, which he later became friends with, and mentored him during the civil rights movement.

    Started with the death of Eugene Taldmage. During the controversy Herman Taldmage, Ellis Arnall (outgoing gov\rner), and Melvin Thompson (lutinent governer) all claimed that they were governer and refused to leave.     Brown vs. Education
    In this time Brown ended segragation of public schools. Oliver Brown's daughter had a longer commute to go to her segeregated school rather than the whites school nearby. This lead to a law suit which was fairly contreversal at the time on wether the school should be segregated or not.
