    The Dual Alliance
    The Dual Alliance was an alliance between Germany and Austria-Hungary and it was part of a system to prevent war. These two countries agreed to fight together if Russia attacked either one of them. They used an alliance system which stated they would fight together in case of an attack.

    The Triple Alliance was an alliance made between Germany, Italy and Austria - Hungary before World War 1 started. This alliance ended was formed to stop Italy from allying themselves with Russia. This was important to WW1 because it allowed Germany to have other people attack with them. In order to keep themselves working together, they used the alliance system.

    Kaiser Wilhelm II forces Bismark to resign from his post because he does not want to share the power with anyone. Wilhelm wanted to show the Germany was strong and that they could defeat anyone who got in the way of them. He also let the treaty between Germany and Russia collapse completely. This was significant because Russia was able to make an alliance with France.

This shows nationalism because the Serbians wanted to protect their land from Austria taking over. They are passionate about their country staying safe.

    Archduke Ferdinand and his wife were both assassinated on this day. These two people were assassinated by the Bosnian Serv assassins because they wanted control of their own country back. The goal of this was to get rid of the Austrian rule over Serbia. This was important because the Serbians wanted to regain control and it had worked.
