  • Captain Cook

    Captain Cook Discovers Australia by accident in 1770. His ship was called The Endeavour.
  • The First Fleet

    The First Fleet arrives at Botany Bay in 1788 led by Captain Arthur Phillip. He decides that Botany Bay is not a suitable site and moves up to Port Jackson (Known today as Sydney.)
  • Matthew Flnders

    Matthew Flinders was an English Navigator and cartographer (mapmaker). George Bass and Matthew Flinders confirmed that Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) was an island by sailing completely around it.
  • Western Australia

    The Swan River Colony was a British colony established in 1829 on the Swan River in Western Australia
  • The Gold Rush

    In 1851 Edward Hargraves discovered a 'grain of gold' in a water hole near Bathurst. This discovery marked the beginning of the Australian Gold Rush. The effects of the Gold rush lead to many deaths and fights.
  • The Eureka Stockade

    On 3rd of December 1854 people who didn't like following the Government's rules decided to create a rebellion against them leading to deaths of 27 people.
  • The Federation speech

    The Federation of Australia was the process of six colonies around the later called country were held a vote for all the colonies to become states. All of them voted yes except for Western Australia.
  • Federation speech

    Henry parks was going to give the speech to make Australia one whole country unfortunately he never lived to give it. Instead someone else gave the speech and made Australia to what it is now.
