Articles of ConfederationsThe articles of confederations were created because they wanted to secure foreign aid and to form a conederation. People had lot to say about the states rights under the articles because they believed it was limited. The weakness of the articles of confederations led to the constitutional convention which was created to revise the articles but it replaced it with the New constitution coming into effect. -

President Thomas jefferson only wanted New Orleans because it was good for trade and controlled the mouth of the mississippi. But Napoleon wanted more money so he sold the entire Louisiana Territory for 15 million. -
Lewis and Clark
started there journey westward when president jefferson purchased the louisiana territory. Jefferson wanted them to explore west but also the missippi river to find a route to the pacific ocean for trade purposes. -

Dred Scott Decision
dred scottDred Scott was a slave whos master took him from a slave state Missouri to a free state Illinois then another free state Wisconsi. His master went back to missouri after a while and died. Dred Scott went to the supreme court to sue for his freedom because technically he was free slave for a while. abolitionists helped him but he lost his case because he wasnt able to sue people and he didnt have rights and has to remain a slave.
