Napoleon was born on the island Corsia, a Mediterranean island. At age 9, his parents sent him to military school. At 16, he finished school and became a lietenant in the artillery. -

In October royalists rebels marched in on the National Convention. An offier told Napolean to defend all of the delegates. Napoleon and his men attacked them, an soon the royalists fled. After, he was given position as an officer. -

After a series of victories, Napoleon decided to lead the French army against forces of Austria and their Kingdom of Sardinia. At first, he was winning his battles. Going into Egypt trying to stop British trade with India, however, he got pinned downed and wasnforced to retreat. -

Napoleon Ruled over France after becoming ruler, however it is not enough. Over time manages to rule england through many wars.. The only areas not controlled were Britain, Portugal, Sweden, and the Ottoman Empire. -
Napoleon’s coronation
Napoleon decided to be emperor and the French voters supported him. As he walked down the aisle of Notre Dame Cathedral the King waited with a glittering crown and the he took the crown from his hands and put it on his own head. He signalled that he was more powerful than the church. -
Napoleonic Code
A set of laws made by Napleon that got rid of many injustices. However, it also limited liberty and promoted control over personal rights by authority. Things like freedom of speech and freedom of press were restriced. -
Joseph Bonaparte becomes King of Spain
After the Spanish protesed the Continental System, Napleon sends an army, but they resit. So, he takes out the current leader and puts in his brother Joseph. This outrahed the Spanish people.
