    Most explorers were from France, Mexico, and Portuguese.

    Pineda's adventures

    Made maps of Mexico and ended up becoming one of the most famous conquistadors.
    Went on a trip from Florida to Mexico with 400 men. A hurricane came and only 80 men ended up surviving from being washed up to shore.
    Explored the coast of Texas and the survivors ended up being the first Europeans to explore the interior of Texas.

    Cabeza DeVaca shipwrecks

    Cabeza DeVaca was captured by Karankawa Indians.
    Disease killed many Natives during the Age of Contact.
    In Mexico, people thought that Cabeza was telling stories about Cibola.

    People call It the Seven Cities of Cobola.
    Coronado thought Cibola was in Texas because he read Cabeza De Vaca's book.
    Coronado did not find Cibola.
    During Coronado's expedition, Coronado discovered the Grand Canyon.

    Mexico got their indeoendence by being at war for 11 years then Juan ODonoju signs the treaty of Carboda.

    Edwards brothers were upset with some supporters who took over the region.

    After SFA got out of jail he gave up his hope on the Anglo Texans remaining a part of Mexico.

    It was fought because of rebellious Texans wanting to stand up for themselves against Mexico armys.

    Sam Houston didn't send Reinforcements because he didn't care about the Texans that were defending the Alamo.

    the law of April 6 says that there could be no more immagrations,
    it provided a federal official to supervise Empresario contracts,
    It tried to encourage Mexicans to immagrate,

    no more slaves to Mexico,
    the establishing of new forts,
    And there was import taxes.

  • Goliad Massacre

    Fannin and his men lost to the battle of Coleto.
    Santa Anna ordered the massacre to happen.
    250-300 Texans died.
  • Mission San francisco founded

    The purpose was to take in natives and turn them Christian.
    Friars led the missions.
    Spain is responsible.
    Native Americans were affiliated with it.
    Most missions were unsuccessful
    They failed because of disease.
