2 Treaties were signed by Texas' provisional president David Burnet and Mexico's Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. They signed one pubically and help another signing in private putting an end to the Texas Revolution. The treaty was violated by both sides and Texas was not recognized as independent from Mexico.

Sam Houston is elected the first president of Texas by the "new republic" voters. In fear of war the U.S.president refuses the annexation referendum by the voters. Texas then becomes recognized as the Republic of Texas by the U.S. And other countries including France and England in 1837.
