    Brothers Thomas and John Knoll developed the photoshop technology in the late 1980s after noticing the prominent lack of photo-editing features on computers. Their development caught the eye of Adobe who invested in the project, and were able to release Adobe Photoshop which is still used today as a tool to help edit and create unique photos.
  • Hubble Telescope launched

    Hubble Telescope launched

    The Hubble Telescope, invented by Edwin P. Hubble, was launched into space by NASA. The telescope was invented to provide quality images of space and to overcome the obstacles ground observatories created. The Hubble Telescope was and still is able to provide us with an amazing array of images of space and stars that we can not get from simple telescopes and observatories.
  • Sony Playstation is released

    Sony Playstation is released

    Ken Kutaragi was the mastermind in creating the Playstation in association with Sony Entertainment. Its initial release in 1994 was solely in Japan where it saw major success at a retail price of about $387, leading to its September 1995 release in the U.S. . Many regarded the PlayStation as the most important of Sony inventions since the Walkman and is still widely used today with newer versions being released.

    The first DVDs are released in the U.S.

    DVDs (short for digital video disks) were released to the general public in 1997. The release of DVDs acted as a newer and easier replacement to VHS tapes. Though there is not one specific company or person that can be credited with inventing the DVD, the actually laser disc technology the DVD uses was created almost 40 years before in 1958 by David Paul Gregg and James Russell. The DVD changed the game as an almost complete replacement to VHS tapes and is still used by some today.

    Google was co-founded by Stanford students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. In 1996, both of them began working together to write a program for a search engine called Backrub. Due to Backrub's success, Page and Brin made the decision to register the domain name Google.com and therefore founded and created the world's largest search engine is history that is still prominently used for a variety of functions today.
