    DVD Player
    The first DVD Player was released in the United States. I remember making the "switch" from VHS to DVD when I was little. Yay for no longer having to wait to rewind a VHS!

  • Laptop Cart in School

    We got a laptop cart to share between all the classes on our floor at school. Everybody always got excited the days the teacher rolled in the laptop cart because it was more fun than paper/pencil work. Usually we just worked on keyboard skills.
  • Nintendo Wii

    Nintendo Wii
    I got my first Nintendo Wii. I was able to play video games while being active. I was amazed.

    I created my first Facebook account because I wanted to be like my older sister. Now I get on it more than she does, mostly to collaborate with teachers all over the world in the different groups that I am in.

    SMART Board in High School
    SMART Boards and SMART document cameras made their way into my high school a few classrooms at a time. It would take teachers the whole class period to figure out how to work this new technology.

    iPod Touch
    I got my first iPod Touch to listen to music while I was on the bus to games or while I did homework. Now I can't imagine ever not having music readily available.

    I took my first online class (AP US History) through Florida Virtual School. I loved being able to work at my own pace.

    I got my first iPhone as a graduation/birthday present! I can not imagine life without my smartphone now.

    Gorilla Drive (USB Flash Drive)
    I finally bought a USB Flash Drive (or three) that could withstand my use of them. I always kept losing/breaking them, until I found Gorilla Drive. Being able to save documents and work on them on another computer later is the best. I have every document, image, etc. I ever need for school or work on them.

    I took a basic programming class at Concord University. The day that I made my own code to create "change" when an amount was entered was the happiest day of the semester!

  • AppleTV in my Classroom

    AppleTV in my Classroom
    AppleTV was introduced at Nitro Elementary. I use this every day in my classroom to airplay my computer screen for students to see what I am doing.
