    A treaty between the US and France to settle the hostilities that had erupted during the Quasi-War.

  • Louisiana Purchase

    The acquisition of the Lousiana territory by the US from France.

  • Embargo Act

    Made it illegal for there to be exports from the US. Sponsored by President Thomas Jefferson and enacted by Congress.

  • War of 1812

    A military conflict. It lasted for two and a half years. Fought by the US against the UK of Great Britain and Ireland, it's North American colonies, and its American Indian allies.

  • Treaty of Ghent

    The peace treaty that had ended the War of 1812 between the US and Great Britain.

  • Monroe Doctrine

    A US foreign policy regarding European countries.
